Fading Footprints of Friendship

In the pages of our shared history,

Lies a tale of friendship, once so free,

A bond we thought would never bend,

But time's cruel hand, it chose to rend. 

We laughed, we cried, side by side,

Through every storm, we did confide,

But life's currents, they pulled us apart,

Leaving a void in this wounded heart.

Once inseparable, hand in hand,

In each other's dreams, we'd firmly stand,

But as new faces came into view,

You drifted away, our colors askew.

With excitement in your eyes, you'd roam,

And in their laughter, you found a home,

I watched from afar, as you'd forget,

The days we cherished, the suns that set.

Like autumn leaves, our memories fell,

A bittersweet tale, I know too well,

In the garden of time, we grew apart,

A garden that now feels cold and dark.

Yet, I won't hold bitterness or hate,

For friendships change, and that's our fate,

I'll cherish the moments that we shared,

The love we knew, how much we cared.

Though the winds of change may rearrange,

The tapestry of friendships, in exchange,

I'll remember you, my friend of yore,

And the joy we found in times of yore.

So here's to the laughter, the tears we cried,

The memories that will never subside,

I wish you well on your newfound road,

May happiness be the story you're bestowed.

And if someday, our paths should cross,

I'll greet you with a smile, no loss,

For true friendship can withstand the test,

Even after we've faced life's toughest quest.
